We support forest joy and learning: Brusletto sponsors “Kong(l)e for a Day”

At Brusletto, we are passionate about nature, craftsmanship, and real outdoor experiences. That’s why we are proud sponsors of the Skogselskapet’s popular event Kong(l)e for a Day – an inspiring and educational school day that takes thousands of children out into the forest to learn more about nature and the important role forests play.

A day filled with creativity, learning, and nature experiences

Kong(l)e for a Day was held in 2024 with record participation: A total of 1,969 school classes and 40,218 pupils from all over the country joined! The event is a collaboration between Skogselskapet and Skogkurs, and is supported by several engaged partners – including the Norwegian Environment Agency, DNB Sparebank Foundation, Høyt og Lavt, and us at Brusletto.

The event is free and tailored for pupils in grades 1–7. Students can choose between three different assignments – practical, creative, or science-based – all aligned with curriculum goals. The day combines digital learning with hands-on tasks in the school’s local outdoor area. This year’s theme is: “How does a tree work?” – inspired by Norway’s Year of Outdoor Life 2025.

Brusletto prizes for the forest's young artists

This year, we at Brusletto are honored to contribute with something we’re proud of: high-quality knives and axes. These are awarded as prizes to the school classes that create the most creative and impressive artworks using natural materials from the forest. A perfect way to combine outdoor experiences with creativity and knowledge!

Feedback from both students and teachers has been overwhelmingly positive. Kong(l)e for a Day offers children a unique and engaging school day where they use their hands, heads, and hearts – in and with nature.
